Bumper Lights

Hey everyone,

I just picked up some PIAA 520's off 120 and I'm looking to mount them directly to my bumper. Since I have an '06, I cannot have the brackets coming out from under my hood like I've seen on a few rigs here. Has anyone with an '06+ mounted lights drectly to their bumper? If so, did you use mounting brackets or did you just mount them directly to the bumper? I haven't found any pictures of write-ups on this, any help would be appreciated.

After I figure out the mounting I'm going to have to figure out the wiring, should be interesting.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the diagram. I think I have the general idea of what needs to be done. Hopefully I can get it done without any problems.

Here are some pictures of the PIAA 520's installed. I'll try and get some pictures of them on tonight.

i've always wanted to do this, but how did you secure the lights? metal bar inside of the bumper?

Ya, I went to Home Depot and bought a 6"x6" metal L bracket. There is a metal support beam under the bumper, but the lights need to go forward to avoid the hood and the bar isn't directly under where the lights need to be mounted. So I cut the L bracket so it fit between the support beam and the bumper and drilled the lights into the bracket and drilled the bracket into the beam, making the lights very sturdy. Once you take a look and feel around under the bumper you'll know what I mean.

Here are some more pictures.
