Bumper Paint

My chrome bumper is starting to show a little rust so I plan on painting it while I save up the dough for a new one. Any tips on how to paint it, precautionary steps, or what paint to use? Has anybody painted their own and be willing to share some pics?

I'd be interested in this as well as my chrome is cracked and the rust stains look terrible. How do you strip the chrome off?

very high grit sandpaper or other heavy abrasive, unless you can snag a sandblaster
