Bumper scratch :(

Hi all,

So my black 4th Gen was in near perfect shape until last weekend when some unknown person saw fit to scratch up the back bumper. I don't have a pic (sorry, I know it's useless without one) but it looks like it got swiped by someone in a parking lot. What's the best thing to use on a bumper to get it looking decent? the scratch is black, but it's kinda ridged. about 4 inches long i'd say.

Buff it out. And if the scratch is deep, touch it up and let dry. Then wax and buff it again.

You can try and buff it out with a rubbing compound. If the paint has been rubbed/scratched off, it'll need to be repainted. Depending on the size of the scratch and scuff, touchup paint may or may not work. Touchup paint is ideal for small scratches, nicks, chips, etc. On larger blemish, the repair would be noticeable and IMO, I think it would look worst with a half @$$ed repair than left alone.

I have a similar issue on a 5th gen. Just need some input on going DYI or professional. Pic included
