Burnt headlight socket help

Hi everyone!

Recently my headlight kept going out and they were new bulbs so when i popped the hood to investigate i realized the bulb had burned up the socket. Now it wont make contact. I am due for an inspection sticker and im.not sure how to fix this problem. Anyone have knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thats rough ...Only thing i can think of is cut and splice/solder a new socket on there

He just gave you a solution. Buy a replacement plug, and splice in the new one.

Call McGeorge Toyota Parts, give them your VIN and where in the vehicle this plug is located and they can ship you the replacement. If you don't have the skills to fix it, either learn (lots of how to solder videos on Youtube) or take it to your local Toyota specialist for repair.

What the other posters said is the only answer really. If you have a local salvage yard you can probably get a connector for cheap. Then it's simple to cut and splice the replacement in. I've done it numerous times. Oh and this probably goes without saying but get a new bulb. If you put the old bulb back in with a burned terminal it will destroy the new connector very quickly.

I mean it could be a number of things, more than likely the plug itself was no good and it shorted? Who knows?... but the only thing you can do is just change it, theres no fixing that old one ...hope that helps

81125-35440 is the part number to the headlight wiring sub-harness. Order one, trace it back to where it plugs into the main harness, swap it out and you're done. This harness is the same for driver and passenger, covers headlight, high beam, turn signal and I believe side marker sockets already wired up and ready to go. Had to do this last year as I am convinced that toyota did not intend for me to break the bulb into pieces every time I needed to change it. Good luck

Hey thank u so much i needed that part number and figured it could be done this way. All the other suggestions wud involve me having to do things im not comfortable with and or spending a fortune to have it repaired. Gonna order the part.thanks again
