Burtman Industries Headlights

Anyone running these? Thoughts??

I was looking for some stock replacements as my plastic is looking pretty bad. Also was looking to do the black out mod. This would take care of both. They look nice in the pics. Will they be a direct fit for my 04 SR5?

I don't know him from Adam but I ordered my replacement wood kit from him last year to match the factory wood and it took months to get it. Before I ordered he texted and called me within seconds to tell me about the product to make the sell. After I paid I had a hard time getting him to respond and I had to make repeated threats to file paypal and credit card claims to finally get status updates or responses to my inquiries.

he blamed the delays on the manufacturer which may be completely true, but if he would have take 5 minutes to be a responsive vendor instead of leaving inquiries unanswered for days and weeks at a time we would have avoided most of the issues

This was my experience so YMMV

Burtman used to be a vendor here and was reputable, but something happened a couple years back, a quick search on the forum will result in several, more recent, threads of people experiencing slow or no shipping.

Most of the threads I've seen have been similar to txbonds.

We'll I guess I won't be ordering these... Anyone have any suggestions for replacement headlight assemblies?? Would like black if possible but, will paint if needed.

Thanks!

Have you checked eBay? there are several people there selling em and I think most are cheaper than Burtman.

edit- looks like the price of these have gone up, I could've sworn I paid closer to $150 on ebay. Here's the cheapest set I could find - http://www.amazon.com/Depo-312-1165P-AS2-4Runner-Headlight-Assembly/dp/B005XRR4KY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397487685&sr=8-1&keywords=03+4runner+black+headlight

I can't thank you guys enough for this input! I had a Father's Day gift coming my way, which was going to be a set of these sharp headlights, and I recall Burtman products being top-notch so this is rather shocking. I seriously wonder what happened over there at BI. :nono:

Now I'm back at square one with either biting the bullet for factory replacement costs, or pressing my luck with ebay quality products. DA**IT!!

how is the quality of the DEPO lights? I've heard cheap plastic but not seen any in person. Probably easier to just paint them though I would think..

can of matte blk paint - $9
scuff pad - $2
silicone tube - $5
oven - electricity

less than 20 bucks sounds a lot better than 170 imo
I've been wanting to black my bezel for a while now but haven't had enough time to let her sit for the cure of the sealant so it hasn't happened :/

Hey, I'm not knocking the DIY version. However, I did that myself, took every FREAKING precaution, and two weeks later, massive moisture fogging inside the housings... I was pissed. I tore them apart and did it again. A little over a week later, same damned result. Thus, I chunked them and purchased the DEPO's. Couldn't be happier. No, they are definately NOT cheap plastic. Almost comparable to OEM.... ALMOST.

Does anyone know of a source (other than home-made) for the blacked out headlighjts that fit an 06. It seems like everything I find listed specifically says "will not fit 2006 4Runner."

Preacher, looks like you and I are neighbors, man- haha. I'm off 45 S and the Dixie Farm exit. Maybe we can connect is I can take a look at the Depo's you've got! PM me.
