Buster Posey

Thought this was a pretty cool story and had to share. I've been waiting for delivery on my TRD pro for a couple months now. A couple weeks ago, i received a call from the dealership saying it should be arriving in 2 weeks. The following day, the dealership calls me and says there will be a 8 week delay. I'm not in a rush so I didn't really care. My sales guy calls me and tells me that the one I customized was taken by corporate to give to Buster Posey. Apparently they had some sort of contract with him where they owed him a TRD Pro. Long story short, I was able to get some signed memorabilia out of it....

Buster is a good dude, so thats cool that it wasnt someone like A-Roid. I would still be a little bummed but oh well...

In other words they screwed over the little guy for the sports star. just another example of the rich getting richer. I'd probably be pissed

Gerald Dempsey "Buster" Posey III is an American professional baseball catcher and first baseman for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. He stands 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 220 pounds. He bats and throws right-handed.

I didn't know who he was. I assume others may not know as well.

Buster?

Based on the title of this thread, I thought it was another one of those BS spam posts. Once it got up to 8 replies I figured there was either much LOLs on spammer or it was a legit post. Much disappointment since it's about sports.

Cool man.. Sounds like the dealer really dropped the ball but at least you got some swag.. and you didn't care about the delay anyways so it's all good.

I'm not huge into sports but he's a pretty well-known guy on the west coast, he may be 27 but he's also got 3x World Series rings for good reason.. I love watching him play.

Anyways, cool story I hope you get your TRD soon.

That's kinda cool but I would've raised holy hell about delaying my delivery because they decided to give my truck to someone else regardless who it was.

I tend to agree. I'd be pissed to have to give up my ride for an autograph of someone who is virtually unknown outside the Bay Area.

Buster Posey is one of the best baseball players in the game right now. I'd probably be pretty pissed if that happened to me, but if I could deal with the delay it would be a pretty good consolation to get some memorabilia (imagine most baseball fans would feel the same way)...

LoL....I'm a huge sports fan and I had no idea who this was. I had to googlify him. I had him confused with the washed up boxer Buster Douglas.

...and like the others stated, I'd be furious. I would've preferred that the dealership just lied and told me that my promised vehicle accidentally fell out of the shipping container into the ocean...or that Lindsey Lohan crashed into the 18-wheeler that was hauling my vehicle and caused it to fall from the carrier 15ft onto the highway, totaling it....even that it was stolen off the lot and used in a drive-by shooting and is now in police evidence lockup awaiting a trial that is 2 yrs out. Pretty much anything except: "We place so little value in you as a customer that we chose to give away your vehicle to a spoiled, overly paid athlete...that could easily buy his OWN dealership".

Yeah, sorry...I'd have to walk on that deal...or at the VERY least get a 50% reduction in the out-the-door price.

I am in the camp of who the h*** is Buster Posey. The right thing to do would have been to contact you, explain the situation and see if you were onboard with trading some wait time for "swag". Making the call for you was poor form, even if you were ok with it.

I'm really surprised by the amount of people that don't know who Buster Posey is. 3 time World Series champ, 2 time All Star, 2010 NL Rookie of the Year, and 2012 NL MVP!

On second thought, I do live in the Bay Area and have multiple friends who have named their dog either "Buster" or "Posey." Plus the Giants easily have the strongest following of all the Bay Area teams, which will grow in the upcoming year due to the flaming dumpster fire that was formerly known as the San Francisco 49ers. Anways...

Sorry about your ride. Signed memorabilia is alright but at the very least they could have cut you a discount for your troubles (or had you hand Buster the keys as he drove away with your car).
