buyer beware - victory 4x4

hey all, i had a negative experience with victory 4x4 and wanted to share what is not cool business practice. and i know that they are active in the forums here so hopefully they handle this with tact. i emailed them privately and got no response as well.

i was initially concerned about the V logo in the middle of their bumper where the LED bar goes. they told me it does not occlude the LED bar and is purely cosmetic.

that turns out to be completely false, and my LED bar with a mix of beam and flood is significantly impaired by the logo, which now shows up as an upside down triangle wedge "beam" in the middle instead of a circular highlight as one would expect.

i posted my review on victory 4x4 with three stars.

they changed my three star review to five stars.

yes they make cool products but realizing they are doctoring their own reviews should be a red flag. it's an awesome bumper and a great price. the decision to put their logo in the middle is shortsighted and makes the bumper worse and their changing my review is just not ok either. i now have to pay a shop to grind it out.

So I’m sorry about your disappointment with an expensive product, but I think common sense would tell you that if you shine a light through an opaque object you’ll get a shadow there. It certainly doesn’t interfere with the effectiveness of the light.

You can probably easily remove the logo if you don’t like it.

I don’t agree with your review for the reasons stated above, but I don’t know what to say about the review appearing differently on their website

Ps I’d be happy to buy the bumper from you if you’re selling as it’s my next purchase

Changing a customer's review to falsely improve their rating is a loser's move. Pathetic.

But it does affect the light. If the light has 30 leds and 6 of them are blocked by that emblem, than you will only get the output of 24 leds. Should the OP of used common sense and known this? Yeah probably but not everyone has experience with these things. But the fact they told him it wouldn't affect it is a lie. It may be minor to the naked eye but it still does.

As far as the review change, that's a big issue. Maybe it wasn't malicious and was a site error? Email them and ask. I had ruffstuff do that to one of my reviews and I asked them about it and said they have been experiencing issues. Changed my review to what I originally put it at and sent me a free replacement of that item.

Just get a cheap angle grinder from Harbor Freight, put a cutoff wheel on it, and cut out the part you don't want. Faster and cheaper than paying some shop to do it.
