Howdy,
I am also new to this board and T4Rs in general, I have always loved the looks and here such great things about them, plus my 2000 Grand Cherokee is tired, and I'm planning a move to Colorado!
Anyway, I too test drove a 2003 V6 SR5 oddly with leather seats, 111,000 on the odo, no rust thanks to undercoating, exterior looked great, interior had some wear which is to be expected.
From what I have read above, the 03s seem to have not had the HG issue, but if I understand what I've heard, will need the timing belt at or near this mileage.?? Please advise!
Not finding anything else in my price range, I am tempted...it rode really nice, was smooth and quiet, and felt great!
Other questions: did heated seats ever become standard equipment or the SR5? If so, in what year?
what is the main benefit of the 5 spd in later models vs. the 4 spd?
Do you find the drivers seat is easy to adjust? Comfortable for long drives?
Are aftermarket replacements for the little cover over the power outlet in the center console (broken) the glove box cover (jammed) and one of the little storage compartments in the rear available?
Thanks in advance! Dealer sells with a warranty and a 7 day no questions asked return policy, which is great and would give me time for a thorough look over by my mechanic, who loves Toyotas...
