Buying a Limited without nav..how hard to install aftermarket nav unit?

Just like the title says...I'm about to buy a a 2wd Limited 2010 4runner with all the options except navigation and 3rd row seating.

Will it be very difficult to install an aftermarket navigation/audio unit? And will we only be able to do it when they make the dash kits?

Also, another question that doesn't pertain, but is 40k out the door with taxes and everything a good deal for a 2wd Limited 2010 4runner without nav and 3rd row but everything else a good deal?

Once a dash kit is available it won't be hard to install a new HU. Remove and replace.

I already did this and saved over a thousand dollars over factory nav. Check my 'Mods Thread' in my sig and you'll see a link for the pictures of the Pioneer Nav I had installed a month ago in my 2010 SR5. I'm now just waiting for the Metra dash kit, which apparently should not take much longer than another 2 weeks (but who knows).

just called them yesterday. they told me "soon". and then i asked for a time frame and got "two or three weeks". that's the same thing they told me when i called 3 weeks ago and again 7 weeks ago.

they said they're currently working on the Mustang dash kit as the top priority and they believe that the 4Runner kit is next priority so if you happen to call Metra, ask them how far along the Mustang kit is so you can gauge the progress of the 4Runner kit.

Is Metra really the only game in town? Seems like this should be a very easy, quick turn around product to design and manf. Wonder how big the mkt is for these kits.
