Buying toyota used car warranty

I am looking to buy a 2006 4runner from a private party. The car was placed in service in Novmeber 2005. Can I buy a toyota extended warranty from Toyota. From my reading there may be issues of the car over three years in service and not being purchased from a dealer. Any thoughts to help me out. Any experiences. Thanks in advance. Al

This was discussed before. And Shaun, the guy who used to sell new car warranties on here, I believe said that genuine Toyota used car warranties could only be purchased at time of sell from the dealer.

But do a google search to verify this, it was a while ago....

That is my understanding also. Molle Toyota is a Toyota Dealer. Their contact information is in this thread.
