Buying TPMS sensors for 2005 4Runner

Hi guys, I'm buying an extra set of rims for my 2005 V8 4Runner (for snow tires). I need a set of TPMS sensors. I found used OEM ones on eBay but they say the batteries are not replaceable. So I'm wondering how long the batteries last. I don't want to buy throwaway ones.

The model I am looking at is OEM PMV-1017. Is that the right one?

Should I look for some other ones or will those eBay ones be fine? New ones are easily $60 each. Just looking for some guidance before wasting my money. Thanks in advance.

for eBay ones the battery life is unpredictable since its used you wont know how long its been... i changed all 5 to new ones in mine (spare tire has one) mine lasted 10 years,

If your buying extra set of rims to swap for the seasons, don't waste your money on the sensors. Your TPMS system can only hold 5 tire codes at a time, you would have to reprogram the other tires tires when converting over to them.

Good feedback. Should I just let the tire light stay on all winter without using the TPMS sensors? I assume that will happen if I do not use the tire sensors. It will be annoying but I'll tune it out in time...I think. I like the TPMS (given me early warnings on low tire pressure, especially at 10,000 ft when the temp is below freezing) though could live without it.

I'll also check pricing on new ones, just to see what it is.

Cool, having a switch would be nice. I can keep it off during the winter and check the pressure more often. I'll tackle this before it gets too cold to play around in the garage for long. Mine is a 2005, so it is probable they will need replacing at some point in the not-too-distant future, so thanks for that link. It's about $54 each there...about the cheapest I have seen,
