So I'm currently in the middle of doing an engine swap (3vze) on my '92 4Runner, and my old bimetallic valve broke (go figure), I've read that it isn't really essential and I can run without it, but is that really true? I don't want to risk harming this new engine in any way, and I want it to run the best and most efficient that it can, but the stealership wants $100 for the little thing :wow2: image.jpg

Not entirely sure, I'm sure somebody will chime in as to if you need it need it. But if you have some time cruise over to your local pick a part. Buddy had to do it to replace a similar valve on his 91 4banger that the stealership wanted a dead president for. Pulled it off of a pickups 22re, I think it cost him 10 bucks and a bloody knuckle
