Bye Bye...been fun

My beloved 2006 T4R is officially gone. I haven't posted in awhile...but have thoroughly enjoyed my years here, reading and posting on this forum. I traded it in on a Porsche Cayenne S. Have wanted one of those for years and finally pulled the trigger. Anyway, thank you for all the help and tips over the years. I live in MT but my T4R is now in SLC Utah. If anyone in the area is interested in a very well cared for, mildly lifted 2006 you can't go wrong w/ this one. I figured I would post the link for any interested parties.

I am not selling this vehicle...it is at a dealership in SLC.

ouch. Get ready for the repair bills. The 3 people I know that had them had turbos and they spent more time in the shop than driving them... I've always liked them other than that. Good luck with it though! I hope it works out for you.

Trust me...I am well aware of all potential maintenance issues. I avoided the turbo and the air suspension in an effort to minimize maintenance. The Cayenne S is over a second faster 0-60 than my v8 4runner was. Plenty fast for me... I test drove a turbo and well...scary fast, especially in a 4500lb suv!!

Two thing the Cayenne is notorious for needing repair for are individual coil packs going bad and propeller shaft and propeller shaft bearings. If youre lucky enough to dodge these bullets you'll love your porsche cayenne

As it turns out we went opposite directions on the same path, as I sold my Porsche Cayenne S and Tundra 4X4 for a 4Runner SE 4X4. The Cayenne was used for clients, and the Tundra for the beach and offroad. Turns out I don't see clients in person that much now, and found the Tundra too big to be practical.

Did you get the latest body style Cayenne, or the older style?

You'll love your Cayenne S. What a great choice and completely understand. I love mine.

In five years, I've had a "Dipped Beam" aka headlight fail and that will set you back a whole $300. Oh, and you'll burn through rubber because you can't resist rallying the hell out of it. Time to buy a Valentine!

I'll keep an eye out for your T4R here in SL.

To answer some questions.

The wheels were powder coated about 2 years ago. I went w/ a matte finish and if I were to do it again would go w/ satin or gloss. Dirt and grime stuck to that matte finish like glue. I live in MT and that was just the wrong choice for out here. They did not give me 21k, they gave me 18k...a heads up for anyone looking to purchase that vehicle...

I am not at all a fan of the newer Cayennes. The rear looks to "lexus like" in my opinion and they dropped the boxster/911 style headlights. The 2010 and 2011 models lost that Porsche flair if you ask me. I like the older or first incarnation. I went w/ an 06. I had a Porsche dealer in Washington run the vin before my purchase and he was able to pull up all of the service history. It appears as though the majority of the issues known to Cayennes had been taken care of by the PO. The coolant lines are the ones i'm not sure about. Apparently Porsche installed plastic cooling lines and they are known to burst. I'm hoping that has been taken care of...if not, so be it. Driving a Porsche ain't cheap but when you get behind the wheel it is well worth it...IMO.

I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but if things continue to go well w/ my Porsche I can't ever imagine driving anything else... I had an audi before my 4runner and didn't realize how much I missed that german car feeling. They seem to have more of a personality than Japanese/American vehicles.
