Is there a cabin filter for the 1990 4runners. I have a nasty smell coming from my vents and it is getting me sick. Or is there anything that I can do to fix this?

Cabin filters do not filter smell; which you don't have anyway.
Your drain tube is clogged with pine needles, leaves, or crud and decomposing in standing water. Clear the drain hose and all will be good.

See if you can remove the screen/grate near the windshield wipers. Then you could flush it from the top with a garden hose. Otherwise you will have to crawl underneath and find the drain hose and then jam a coat hanger up in there.

After you clean it you can spray some Lysol down the vents and make sure you turn on the fan. The mold smell is usually when you drive with the AC on and then turn the car off right away, the moisture that is trapped in the vents turns to a mold smell. If I know I'm done with the drive and I have the AC on, before I turn the car engine off, I turn off the AC and open the vent and put the fan on high for a few minutes. Never had a problem since I started to do that. On the smaller import cars, the vents have more angles to make them fit in smaller places than pop's big'o sexy American car. These angles have a higher propensity to trap the cold air.

It sure does smell really bad like a dead animal or something. It is starting to get to my head. 
but yeah I will do all this and hopefully the smell disappears. I will ever try the lysol once I am done.
The smell does come out even though the ac or heater is not on. Once I turn it on it get worse. :bash:

Spray the Lysol into the outside vent and put the inside fan on. Also make sure your vent is set to fresh and not set to recirculate the cabin air.
