Cabin wind noise too HIGH! in '07 SR5

At speeds >40 the driver-side door has a loud wind sound - not high pitched, but like the door isn't closed all the way.

I did a very close visual inspection of both door and chassis rubber seal and they seem both in great condition and well adhered. I also cleaned them, especially between the folds.

I am a little hesitant to outright replace them since visually they look in great shape.

I realize 4runners are not Escalades and there will be cabin noise, but this seems beyond acceptable. Case in point: I have to crank the radio up a bit more when I go from 20mph to highway.

Anyone else have this issue? Solutions?

Have you pulled the filter to see if something has collected or Etc to cause the noise? Check the grill outside for any collection that could be a contributor.

Filter? The wind seems to be catching in the door frame and creates a loud wind sound.

Check the very top right of the drivers side door and check that it is truly flush.

I have the noise, but not as bad. My dog, whilst stepping on the central locking button on drivers door, locked me out. I had to call a locksmith and he used an air bladder to expand the door on top so he could insert a rod to activate the button again.

It's not a bad noise, but noticeable, as is the fact the door is not flush anymore (I didn't notice this until a few months later). My radio is always at 40-45 volume when on the freeway as the noise inside makes it hard to hear radio.

If you have a sunroof make sure it's sealed tight too.

In my case, the noise was loud in the cab from the windshield. I did two things that helped out with this issue: replaced the top molding with another OEM unit. Swapped the Sport hood with a guy who owns a SR5. Between those two items, the cab is uber quiet now.

Sometimes I have to do this on my cars in order to reduce the door noise. Open door, roll window down all the way, stick a shoe in the door jamb and push the window frame toward the vehicle. Just apply little amount of force until you feel like the window frame budged a little. I know, this sounds rather redneck-sih but that's the safest way to bring the window frame a little bit at a time until the seals are making good contact again.

To add what V8Man says:

Also, sometimes the torx screws on the bottom of each end of the crossbars need to be retighten.

Also positioning the crossbars slightly off jar so as to feel like they are slightly crooked/jammed and then tightening the fasteners will help with the crossbar wind noise.

I removed mine. Don't need them.

No noise and extra 1/2 mpg on the highway.
