Cable adjustments

Hello All... I'm new to this forum as well as to the Toyota 4runner world. So far I like to design/build of my 92' 3.0 4runner. I also know what everyone says about the 3.0 being a sluggish gas guzzler...and their right. But, with the right mod's and tlc, you can make this a decent motor. I've had my 92 for a week now and I've replaced the clutch fan, cleaned and regap'ed my plugs, AND, I adjusted my 3 intake cables...throttle and tranny, and WOW, that alone has made a huge difference.

92 3.0 V6 cable adjustments

Hello all...fixitmrb again. The 3 cable adjustments is something that evey Toyota owner should know. First, give the two upper cables some slack. Then break lose the idle screw w/ a 8mm, then using an allanwrench, adjust the idle. Then you'll notice some play...slack, if you will, in the throttle body when you rotate it, BEFORE the pedal cable's slack is gone. Adjust that throttle cable out until almost all of that slack is gone. Then adj. the two upper tranny cables out until there's just a bit of slack. (Those two upper cable will adj. when your tranny shifts in the acceleration/deceleration).
Yep, so far, I love my rig!
