Does anyone know if any of the 5th Gen CAD files are public or know where to get them? I'm workin on a product idea and I need a 3D model of the headlight housings and was hoping i wouldn't have to figure it out by scratch

Personally I'd love to have a 3D printable design for the front grille inserts to change the design of the "mesh" and snap in properly. Would open up so many more options for those with lightbars in the grille!

Will, no manufacturer in their right mind would make ANY actual design or manufacturing file public. Many manufacturers make a generic 3D model file available to vendors though. I don't know if Toyota does or not. Usually the generic 3D files have the correct mounting envelope along with any connections. Good luck man. Probably the best way is to take one out and have it scanned.

Definitely no company is going to have their proprietary CAD models out for public consumption. However, consumer-grade, portable 3D scanners are becoming way more affordable and would be an awesome way to try to develop aftermarket components, especially cosmetic parts.

I seriously doubt you'll find design files. I work in the construction industry and basically have to sign my life away to get any engineer to send me a CAD file for something as basic as a foundation plan.

You'd be better off measuring for you own data points and drawing it from scratch.

We have done commercial product ads with manufacturer supplied models (in my case Volvo), they do supply them under contract but not for distribution.

You might be able to find a good hand model from someplace like TurboSquid, Dosch Design, or other 3d stock house.

Am I missing something? Your sig says your build is a Trail Pro, can't you measure it? or pull it and scan it?
