Calculated Average Speed

Hey everyone,
How does the computer calculate the average speed? Mine is always really low and I was wondering if they took into account stopping at stop lights etc.

Yes that comes from stop & go driving. On the freeway if you push the reset button it will pretty much match your speed , but still fluctuate .

Yea I have done that, but then after about a week or so it go back to like 26 or something, but now I know that is from stopping and driving. I wish it would calculate your average driving speed only.
