I'm planning on swapping to a manual in my 2000 Limited, I have a complete donor vehicle with a rusted out frame I just picked up- 2000 SR5 3.4L 4x4 R150F manual trans however the SR5 has Fed emissions and my Limited is Cali emissions.
Can I still use the manual ECU? Could I convert the Limited rig to Federal emissions with the parts from the SR5?
I read something about tricking the A/T ECU so it doesn't cause a CEL with the manual transmission but found no confirmation if it worked.
Here in Ontario, Canada all we have for Emissions testing now is an OBD scan for codes stored, monitors ready, no visible CEL on the dash.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
