California 4runner owners tinted tail light law

So I have a 1995 4runner 3.slow and I have tinted tail lights, but there not dark, you still can see the Coler in them,

Do you guys think I could get a fix it ticket with this tint on my lights?

Pretty sure there is a ticket for Anything and Everything in California.......they look like it would depend on the Cops mood, and if they have met their quota....
Personally, making my brake lights harder to see is just plain silly, I already don't trust other drivers for a hill of beans! But I am also into "To each their own".:mod:

We'll I understand that, I don't drive my truck a lot at the end of the month for those reasons, but do they even look tinted?

I had tinted tails like yours on my old truck. I got a fix it for it. But I was kind of asking for it because I gunned it by him with my exhaust super loud as the light just turned green lol

We'll this might sound stupid, but Iv gotten one before this, but they were pitch black couldn't see anything unless I was ok the brake or my lights were on, but Iv gotten a speeding ticket and the cop didn't say anything about my lights, should I worrie about it or no?

Why did you tint them if your worried about getting a ticket? If you do get a fix it ticket then either fix them or pay the tickets. They are not that dark so I wouldn't worry.

We'll I had them pitch black before and got a ticket, then put a light tint on them

In Az they have to be visible from 500 ft away. I got a ticket for having too small a brake light on my sand rail. They were the size of a nickel. I explained that (500 ft) to the cop and still got the ticket.

I went to court and had a photo of my car 500 ft away with the lights on, no brake lights and another with the lights AND brake lights on. Judge told me to have a nice day.

I'd look into the CDOT rules and regs.

Bottom line for where I live (Orange County): If a cop wants to pull you over for anything, they will.
1. Fast, modified, and old cars are profiled first
2. They usually have nothing better to do (reinforced by 2-4 backup units)
3. Quota time has an alarming amount of cops out - they ticket you for everything - front plate, tinted lights, modifications, exhaust, window tint, bulbs that have gone out, off road lights that aren't covered, windshield cracks, balding tires, tires sticking out too far, etc.... the list.....

I've been pulled over because the officer thought my license plate frame made an E look more like an F. He spent an hour searching my truck and my passengers and found nothing. This is common for countless similar reasons.

But to an officer, you're a criminal. You're breaking the law. You must be punished to the extent of the criminal justice system.

Witch makes sence, cops in California are stupid and pointless, they shouldn't pull you over for anything, but so bottom line is, in your guys eyes, do you guys think I should remove the tint or kept it? I don't know what to do with them

I am a California 4runner owner. (4th Gen) This has picked up my interest. I was not aware of this "tint" factor. I have a partially cracked right rear tail light plastic (a portion has fallen off) - but, for me, in my neck of the woods, - seemingly not enough to get the police to be unhappy.
If there was a list, of some kind, which detailed any more of these unknown potential infractions, I would be interested. Jerry
