Caliper Slide Pins bring on the ARGH!!!!

If the pins are rusty or gunked up buy a new pair (couple $$ per side @Napa) and install those.

I take mine to the bench grinder and use the wire-wheel on them. When I'm done they are nice and clean.

Grease is the only thing you should be using on the pins. I have a tub of wheel-bearing grease I use. Does an EXCELLENT job..and very durable.

Whenever you rotate the tires or have them off take a few minutes to pull the pins out, clean them up and slide them back in. Should take you less than 5 minutes per side.
I have never tried using anti-seize on them but I am sure it will work. You should only need to put a very thin layer of it on them.

I have not had very good luck with some of the after market springs. Seems like some of them are not wide enough to do the job correctly. The dealer is pretty cheap on these parts.

No way! Never glue the caliper ins in! They're made to have some slide on them. Take 'em out and grease them up with silicone based caliper grease. I do it every spring after the terrible winters we have up here. If the pins are rusty or gunked up buy a new pair (couple $$ per side [MENTION=63218]Napa[/MENTION]) and install those. Well worth it. Haha, I realized this would be a bad idea. Instead, I found out the 'anti-rattle pins' were missing, which was the direct cause of my noise issues.

Thanks for the ideas - grease helped as well.

use the retention spring on both pins and it will hold the pads down where you don't get the rattle
