My gut says YES, but I'd check the amperage draw just to be safe. I just don't see it drawing much no matter what, you should be fine to use it for anything.Wondering of I can use this OEM Starter relay for a rear aux light.

Here is from the FSM.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Aloha
There isn't a ground on that switch. One leg is power in and the other is power out to the relay.
It's the same as any two pole (non-lighted) switch. The switch just completes the circuit on one leg, either positive or negative.
I'm heading to work right now, will look into it after.
So you want to wire up some lights currently connected to that dash switch and control them with the stalk instead?
TheDurk could I get a picture of your FSM please on the fog light?Wait, let's get this right. If you install the stalk, on a non-DRL rig, it will send ground out the Black/Red wire from pin 11 of the plug from the stalk. I'm looking at the '99 wire diagram for a USA (non-DRL) 4Runner. It is set up to switch GROUND. There is no doubt about it. I'd link it, but it's my paper copy.
So what you have to do is connect that Black-Red wire to the coil of the relay you are using. It will provide GROUND. Then you have to connect the OTHER side of the relay coil to the 12V+ power supply to the fogs. Then the stalk will trigger the relay as it is set up to switch GROUND and fogs will be available anytime there is power to the fog circuit. Or you can tap the 12V+ from the low beams, parking lights, any key-on circuit, or a full-time, depending on how you want the fogs to behave. The only other way to use the stalk with an add-on relay is to go get the White/Black (not green/black as in the 2002 set-up) wire to the stalk switch at Pin 10, take it off ground and connect it to a 12V+ source. Source depends on how you want the fogs to behave: lows only like stock, lights on, key-on, or anytime.
I strongly suspect the first way is easier.
Sorry, my first response in the previous post was for using the stalk with the factory relay.

I was assuming that he was running his own wiring and only using that diagram to show the switch as used in the factory setup so we could see the two wires.
I didn't see it that he was using it in conjunction with the DRL or any other factory wiring.

TheDurk i am using my own wires to wire everything up. I have no factory harness being its an 98. Only 99-02 came pre wired. He has to plug it into the factory harness or he will not have headlights or blinkers.
