Cam sensr Code, Hard Start?

So my 4runner has been having trouble starting up right away. it will crank longer than usual and then it will start. Once it starts up everything is fine. I know its not the battery since i have already load tested it. Originally I thought it was the fuel pump going out, but the other day I got a code for my bank 2 cam sensor. I dont remember the code off the top of my head, but I wrote it down somewhere and I'll post it later. Anyways, I cleared the code and to see if it would come back on. The code is triggered on start up when it doesnt get a signal from the sensor after 2 times. I have driven my car multiple times since clearing the code and it hasnt come back on yet. I plan on using a scope to check the sensor today to see if its actually faulty. But Im wondering if anybody has run into the same problem or know anyone who has; and if so, what was the issue and solution to the longer than normal engine cranking.

The long crank is caused by the ecm not getting the cam signal. It then makes up a signal based on crank input and starts fix the code fix the long crank. Most likely a bad cam sensor

Did the cam sensor work? I have had the same issue with my 2007 V8 Limited and cam sensor did not work. It is is sitting for more than 20 min, it will crank for 5-7 seconds before firing. I have had it in 4 different shops and nobody can figure out what it is...The cam sensor and fuel pressure regulator have been replaced with no difference. It starts better when it is very cold outside, worse when very warm, but runs great once it finally starts. No codes...Any ideas?

Check coolant temp sensor or be sure coolant is clean and full

I want to say it did help for a little bit, but I recently started to get a cylinder 3 misfire and im trying to diagnose that. I replaced the cam sensor and then i started noticing the misfire a few weeks later. I am getting a cam code again but i think its due to the misfire. the sensor is cheap from rockauto and easy to replace. id say just replace it. i did.

Coolant is good, temp sensor was cheap, so I replaced it. No difference...Any other ideas?

Does the ECM need to be reset after replacing either the cam sensor or the coolant temp sensor? Drove from Denver to Minnesota over Thanksgiving and it started better in MN in similar temps...Any other ideas?

The Cam sensor possibly, the coolant temp no.

Reset the computer, no difference. The weird thing about the Cam sensor is it was partially melted. The auto shop replace it and showed me the old one. How could that not make a difference? Could it be an O2 sensor? There is black smoke when starting in the morning... Running out of ideas...

Or could fuel pump be an issue? The shop first replaced the fuel pressure regulator because the fuel line was losing pressure

Leaky injector? Check plugs to see if one or more is black check maf for fuzz and check for vacuum leaks
