Camera guys 77D vs 80D

I have some airline miles left over and want to get a new DSLR.

It'd have to be a crop body to work with all of my lenses, and I was wondering if the 80D offers a huge upgrade over the 77D?

Really a toss up, IMO.

The 77D has a newer processor (DIGIC 7) vs the 80D.

I have shot about 5500 with my DSLR. It's a form of relaxation and I usually cram one with a small lens into my hiking pack.

I think with the weight and compact nature, I'm leaning for the 77D--it still manages to have an LCD for being about the size of a Rebel.

What kills my SL2 is that the 9 AF points just don't provide the same results as a much more modern AF array.

I got the same problem.

Sadly much easier with the phone since you have it all the time. Instead of lugging around the camera.
