Does anyone know of any off road places you can go and drag your camper and then camp? I was looking for someplace I could go off roading on my way to the campsite. Preferably near NC and VA but I am open to any suggestions.

Look up Crabtree Falls in Virginia. It's a good camping site plus there are a couple trails around there if I'm not mistaken.

Are you talking about staying at the campground with the cranky owners? It has a stream running through it? It was pretty but is there a better place?

I haven't been to Crabree Falls in years. I was hoping to go off road with my truck and camper to a sweet remote campsite. Sounds like these recommendations may be campsites with OHV use areas.
Nah. Last time we cruised through Crabtree, we ran it top to bottom since the place we stay is up just near where the parkway crosses Crabtree Falls Hwy aka Rt56 (mistyped it as 58 in my last post). We saw people primitive camping just about everywhere along the trail where it was wide enough or open enough to do so without actually being IN the trail.

Weird. I thought you could only camp in designated campgrounds up there. I wonder if it's different for that area. Like open camping since it's off the parkway??
