Temps will be 40s to 50s. The record low is 27. You'll be fine, I'd imagine.

I am planning to take 190-East from 395 and head towards 95 (Fallon-Vegas NV). I lived in Reno, NV for 6 years and neither get to head south on 395 nor knew T4R!
During this thanks giving break, I'll get the lower ball joints, sway bar bushings installed and stock extra starter and a CV axle.
Can we carry gas in 5 Gallon big acetone cans? I have several of those.

Yes, you'll be fine as long as you're prepared. There are also miner's cabins and surveyor's cabins you can stay in if you need to. Check ahead with the Ranger Station for trail closures. You might wanna have chains in case you wonder into higher elevations. There's a run planned for Dec 27-29 over on 120 if you're interested. If the dates didn't conflict with family commitments I'd be going.

Dawg4Runner, Thanks for the nice pictures and information about a the trail ride on 27-29. This seems to be ideal for me. Do you have any one of their contact information?
I have a stock 4x4 with 2 inches of lift with A/T tires. Everything else is stock. Hope it can handle their expeditions.

Check on the park's website. Many road in Death Valley are closed due to massive flooding in July.

As for the cabins out there. If they're vacant you can use them on a first come first serve basis. Just leave it in better shape then you found it and leave something behind for the next person. Water bottles, canned food, paper towels, etc. It needs to be rodent proof so bags of chips or sunflower seeds are probably not a good idea.

You should be fine. Take a look at the planning thread for things you need to bring. Make sure you have an air compressor to reinflate your tires. Most of your off-road driving will be on aired down tires. Definitely go with a group and not by yourself. Its much more safer and fun with a group. Ok so I'm probably going to try and join the guys on the Toyota 120 trip on 27th. They look pretty organized and already did it last year. Several of them appear to be on T4R as well.
