Camping in the Florida Keys!!!

I had a few days off over the holidays and the wife had to work, so I packed up my daughter and hightailed it down to the Florida Keys. The weather is just beautiful down there this time of year with absolutely no insects.

Since we only stayed for two nights there really wasn't a need for a hotel room. We simply took off the headrests and reclined the front seats to be flush with the back bench making two comfortable single beds.

I also found some really trick little screens at WalMart and they fit perfectly in the rear windows, allowing a cool breeze to flow through the cab all night.

Nice camping. I love the Florida keys. If you can, I would suggest you to go to dry tortugas (70 miles west of Key West) and camp there, totally worth it.

I suppose you could kite surf there.... but that'd be hard to get all your camping gear with you. j/k... yes, boat only way and yes completely worth it

I looked into camping on Dry Tortugas and it seems like an amazing experience. I can't believe they charge $190/person though, most expensive camping trip ever. Still, how often does one get the chance to camp out 70 miles offshore. I'm going to look into getting a site sometime soon, perhaps February.

Wow, I wish I could achieve overnight sleeping comfort that easily. That's a valuable physical asset.

I got them through 4 Wheel Parts about a year and a half to 2 years ago. I just checked the 4 Wheel Parts website and they don't have them on there anymore.

They are the Procomp 2.25" spacers. They actually gave me about 3 inches of lift. I am running 1.5" Daystars on the rear and a 1.5" Roger Brown body lift.
