Is the V6 in the Camry the same V6 that is in the 4Runner?

By the way, how good is the V6 in the 4th gen 4Runner?

No, it's not the same engine, but both are very good engines.

Yeah, they are very different. the camry has a 3.5 and the 4Runner has a 4.0. But I love the 1gr-fe in the runner. I have an 09 SR5 and it is great. 167,000 and going strong. It tows nice and I constantly get 19-20 on the highway, even with a roof top tent. Towing, I get, depending on the trailer and what I'm hauling, 15 to 16.

The V6 is great, great gas mileage. Runs like a champ. I've owned 2 V6 4Runners over the last decade and have no complaints. I don't tow much, and if I do it's only a small trailer, the only issue with the V6 is it is limited with towing capacity.

It's the same 4.0 that's in the 2nd gen Tacoma, until you get into the 5th gen 4runners then it's the updated dual vvti 4.0

My wife has an '07 Camry XLE V6 and it hauls all kind of ass! Will smoke the tires on take off and chirp 2nd gear!

V6 in my 4Runner is still great with 130k on the clock but no tire smoking here, just pure enjoyment!
