Camshaft and Valve Kit

Forgive the (possibly) noob question here but: Does anyone know of a cam and valve kit that is sold for our 3.4L engines? I've looked all over and can't seem to find anything. My rig is getting up there in miles ~185k and personally i'd like to replace my worn valve springs, sometime this summer, and since I'm going to be in the heads digging around anyway, I'd love to add some more ponies into my engine. So I'm looking to do cams, valves, valve springs, and obviously all required gaskets ect. Is there a kit for all of that or a specific place that I could get all of the parts to put together my own kit? I will also be putting headers and a smaller S/C pulley onto my rig soon.

Are you replacing all these because of the mileage?
IF so, you are wasting your money. Fine a low mile engine for that money and put it in.

No I'm not doing it because of mileage, I'm doing it more because I want more horsepower. I'm doing all the work myself so I'm not paying a shop my firstborn!

Good luck finding any info on this. I've asked a couple of time...to no avail! I got a bunch of feedback like...your wasting your time/money...just put a V-8 in it...everything except for actual help!

Try emailing LC engineering, they make custom toyota long blocks so its worth a shot to email them. They have a valve kit on their website, but no camshafts.

What about the principal of if it's not broke don't fix it ?????

I seriously doubt you or anyone, with all due respect, that even with the right kit is going to some how improve over Toyota's engineering by adding non -Toyota parts.

Regular maintenance is one thing, taking apart the engine is another.

I've seen a lot of broken engine and fix it threads and one fact remains true: if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Btw when your top end does finally go out you can buy an entire new aftermarket Japanese head by JE for $525/side. Buy it as a whole unit. It will last much longer than a partial rebuild.


Edit: I see you mainly want the HP. I guess tell us how it goes? But there has to be better ways to get more HP.
