Can I ask you a personal question?

I've got this giant and expensive pile of stuff I've been accumulating for many months.

front control arm bushings
diff drop
fuel tank skid plate
rear sway bar bushings
end link bushings
E-locker guard
panhard bar drop
Savage rock sliders
Brembo Tundra rotors
Bosch break pads to go with
OME 890's for the rear
Bilstein 5125's to go with

I, like many folks, are waiting on my front coils. I already have Bilstein 5100's on the front, because the front shocks were gone. I was under the truck last week ripping the trim off and really looked at the rear suspension. I was able to grab the rear coils and compress them with my hand. I already knew that my stuff was shot, but I didn't know it was that bad. One of them is almost completely rusted through. I'm not just doing this work to make it look cool. I'm trying to restore the vehicle and pieces so it lasts, as well as upgrading it for a functional purposes. Question being, if I put the 890's in the back, shocks and panhard bar adapter, will it put further stress on the front suspension with the rake while I wait for the front springs? It already sits about 1 1/2 inches lower in the rear.

His (not actually personal) question is:

.... if I put the 890's in the back, shocks and panhard bar adapter, will it put further stress on the front suspension with the rake while I wait for the front springs?

(I knew there was one in there somewhere)

You can mess with the back without worrying about the front; just need to be ready to have a lot of rake if you lift the back first.

It reduces caster a little bit up front but this is not a major issue. The bigger issue is whether you feel like a dork driving around with your rear end jacked up.

I think you could get away with doing just the rears if you really needed to, but I would wait as well.

thanks for the advice. I'd really like to do everything at once but I don't know how long the wait will be. I'm waiting on the 3" Toytec/Eibach front springs. Already paid for and I don't feel like spending more money for something else. Like I said, my only reason to rush this is the condition of the factory rear suspension. I know the rear would have rake but I'm not sure how much giving the fact that it's already 1.5" lower than the front. I was curious about alignment so thanks for addressing that. Guess I'll have to make some decisions. Again thanks to ya'll for the help -

No to using Bosch brake shoes in the rear. :redbrick: Use OEM ones instead.:thumb3:

Otherwise, get to the work in the rear now.

The Bosch break pads are for the Tundra brake upgrade up front, just haven't bought the calipers yet. I think were going to install rear stuff next Sunday. Maybe santa (Toytec) will send my front coils before then -
