hey guys,
I'm new here and don't know how to navigate this forum well. But I need some advice.
I've been to 4 different mechanics and gotten 4 different opinions.
Basically the issue is that I need to buy a bunch of new stuff. I was trying to rebuild my 99 4runner limited 4wd just to normal stock condition, then pay my debts and get my own place to live again and THEN upgrade the truck.
But now it seems I need to do the suspension NOW. so I might as well just do it right the first time.
my mechanical issues are:
1. crank it up, sit still, turn the steering wheel all the way back and forth. I feel these bump, bump, bumbs, all through out the turning radius. 2 mechanics said that's because of a weak steering pump most likely.
2. jingling like keys or chains when I drive over bumps or cracks. One mechanic said that it's loose hardware on the front brakes. 2 other mechanics said that the rotors are warped and one said the pads are worn. That's simple stuff so yall don't worry about that.
3. I personally replaced 2 lower ball joints and one outer tie rod. then had the alignment done twice. it's messed up still. the tires are dead even though the ones in the rear (purchased at the same time) are at about 80%.
So all together between 4 mechanics I've been told I need to replace:
tie rods- inner and outer
ball joints- upper and lower
axles- because the boots are leaky
struts
steering rack mounting bushings
steering pump
rotors and pads
So, I've been looking at the toytec Ultimate lift kit:
Front coil-Bilstein 5100, 600 lb coils
rear coil- OME 906 med coil 2 inch lift
rear shock- ome 60028 comfort ride
upper control arm kit
front diff drop
What do you think?
what do I really NEED to get my tires to stop being destroyed immediately?
What can wait until later?
Should I go ahead and get the full ultimate kit because it's cheaper than buying everything one at a time?
thank you!
no really, if you help me then thank you! I'm ****in lost!
