can I run ome 891s in the rear with stock suspension up front?

I have a saggy rear end and I'm constantly hitting the bump stops. Money is tight so i am wondring if i can run ome 891s in the rear with stock suspension up front?

I always have about 200 lbs of gear in the back so I think 890s wouldn't cut it.

I know there would be a rake but would it be that bad? I have kyb gas adjusts in the rear that i Iwould continue to use. They seem to be good still.

also, would I need to do a phb drop bracket or not? I also tow a small boat a lot and have even more gear when I use it for hhunting (what I mainly use the 4r for).

Can you? Sure. Should you? Well, you'll probably run out of adjustment in your headlights and they'll still be pointing at the ground, but hey, ya know, whatever tickle's your pickle.

I have 891's and the TRD's up front on the first notch, so about 2 inches of lift, and the rake annoys me quite a bit. And I'm just about at the limits for the headlights to be able to see worth a damn. Trailer and loaded it level's out, so they don't drop that much. Were it me, I'd go to the parts store and get a set of the tall 99's.
 
What would be the cheapest solution while fixing my sagging rear end and adding some height to counter the gear I commonly have in the back?

Aren't the 99 tall springs pretty expensive?

Do the moog springs really take a dump in less than a year?

OME 906s. They have a pretty good spring rate which should handle your extra gear, you'll get 2" of lift in the rear but with the gear it will be less which will give you acceptable rake, and you wont need a PHB modification.
 
Here's mine with OME 890s in rear on 99 talls in front. I probably have 100# of stuff in the back.

I run stock front with OME 891 rears. Perfect setup for the money. Really fixes the sagging rear problem of the truck, and leaves some room for heavy loads in the trunk and pinning a trailer. I find the ride to be firmer than stock, but I do prefer it.

Also looks pretty nice with the back of the truck up a bit like this.
 
to run OME rears, whether the 890, 891 or 906 with 99 talls or stock coils, what strut would you run up front? I've never heard anyone complain about Tundra 5100's, but are they a good match for a stock 4Runner spring?

I had the MOOG springs on my 2nd Gen 4runner and they served me well for 5 years. Was just a little rake, but they were progressive rate and putting a load in the cargo area didn't have to much affect on the ride height, the truck still rode with a little rake and performed fine offroad.

The 2nd gen MOOG springs are progressive rate thus making them "last longer" aka sag less with age than the MOOG 3rd gen ones
 
Ok I'm thinking I'll order the 906's and accept the rake until I can put 99 tall springs up front.

Any last objections or concerns before I order them? The stock coils are shot on mine and are literally sitting on the bump stops, my back is not happy right now!
 
I forgot to ask, will I need a spring compressor to install the 906's or will they just slip in like the stock coils?

I installed the 906's today, piece of cake. My old springs were so bad that I gained almost 4" in the rear...lol

There is definitely a rake but it doesn't look excessive at all. I'm sure I'll eventually get some decent coil overs to jack up the front about 2" when money permits.

The ride is SO much better. I was sitting on the bump stops with the old springs so I'm sure anything new would have been an improvement.
