Can I wire some aftermarket fogs up this switch by splicing into the existing wiring?

My friend (with an SR5) and I (with a Limited) switched front bumpers so I no longer have the little bumper mounted fog lights.

I wanted to eventually add my own ditch lights, and I had this thought. Whatcha think? -- I'm just wondering if it would be safe to do so. I would very most likely be using [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EAEM60...olid=1GY5RB93435HQ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) or ones very similar.

So your old truck had lights but the new bumper doesn't and you want to connect lights to the old wiring?

It should be fine as long as the current draw is the same or less than the originals. More than likely the new stuff will draw less, but do your own homework.

IIRC the factory fogs are 55W each, which is the same as most low-end fog lights/driving lights. When I installed my ARB I used the factory wiring to illuminate a set of Hella 700s. If your new lights are ~55W, use some waterproof butt connectors and call it a day.

Just don't use off road lights on the road. Way too much glare for other drivers around you.

Can't stand that. Around 4pm yesterday I was on a bike ride and this Jeep bro was coming at me with ALL his LED's on. Roof mounted light bar, bumper lights, windshield pillar lights. Even in full daylight I was seeing spots.

What a dick.

I know I'm resurrecting an old post, but I haven't been able to find the info that I'm looking for.

If I add the appropriate stalk and relay, can I just splice into the factory pigtail to add a set of Hella Micro DE's and have the switch work? I haven't been able to find a set of OEM fog lamps that I'm willing to pay for, so I'm thinking that I may go the Hella route?
