i just put 285/75/16s on my truck. they are 32.83" so close enough to 33's. i love them

I've got 285's on mine with a 3" toytec OME lift. Had to trim out the front corners a little and run spidertracs with the 5-star rims.
Looks good man. Can you post some close-ups of your fender mod/pinch weld work?

They are Buckshot XMT mudders. it only scrubbs a little under braking while the wheel is turned. (ie backing out of a parking space)

Forget the 2.5" spacers on front, are too tall. You gonna have problems with cvs, harsh suspension, etc.
They are an option ( bad ) when you do not have the money for a suspension kit. However, I prefer to wait for some cash to buy the kit.

I ran 285's for a short while with no lift. It rubbed on road much less offroad but I dealt with it. You can probably get away with a 2.5" lift without any hardcore wheeling but I can't say that definitively. However, I'm going to run my 285 's with a 2" lift.

Yes, I do have spacers on the front. They are 1/4" i believe? im not sure. I bought those wheels and tires off of my friends new Tacoma and the spacers were there. My wheels were scrubbing the caliper slightly. But my tires are still really close to the uca.

So you are just using the plate spacers not the bolt on style I presume? I have a set of these already I took off of my Z71 Chevy so I guess I could run those.

So you ran 33's with no lift??
So i can run the 33's now with no lift or anything at all, just for a few months? Im not going to be going offroad until i get the lift. It will be just for road. Sorry for so many questions guys..

You will rub on the pinch welds for sure with no lift. I have a pic somewhere showing what you need to trim. It may be on my old phone though.
You may rub on the upper control arms as well but you'll have to mount the tires to know for certainty.

To run 33x12.50 it would be advisable to have a lift. Can you get by without it? Yes, but you will have rubbing and you will most likely rub the frame when the steering wheel is at full lock. Depending on the backspacing of your rims you might need wheel spacers to clear the UCA. 12.5's are pretty wide and will require some pounding and trimming to make everything work. A 2.5" lift will help a lot, but cutting and pounding will still be required, as well the possibility of spacers.
As I said in a different thread of yours, 32's will be better for your applications or possibly 33x10.50's.
