As I mentioned in another thread, I just factory ordered an 07 Black Sport Edition - Canadian model.

Here are what it has for options over the standard SR5.

Can someone tell me what exactly a "Light Control System" is? As well, what does the factory "theft deterrent" system comprise of?

PS - Some other differences you maybe interested in - the only way to get side curtain airbags in the Canadian models is to get a Limited. However, interestingly enough, all Canadian models including the base SR5 automatically include a trailering package w/tranny cooler. All 4runners are 4x4.

I'll take a guess based on the U.S. options.

On all U.S. models, an "engine immobilizer" is standard. That means there is a transponder chip in the key, so if the computer doesn't recognize the key inserted in the ignition, the truck won't start.

An option on the SR5 and SE, and standard on the Limited is an upgrade to an "anti-theft system". This will act like an alarm system if someone opens a door or the hood without first unlocking the door(s) with a key or the keyless entry system.

The Owners' Manual calls this "anti-theft system" a "Theft Deterrent System", so maybe that's it.

Finally, there's an accessory upgrade to a "VIP Alarm", which adds the anti-theft if you don't have it, plus it adds a glass breakage sensor.

I'm not sure what "Light control system" means, but maybe it's the automatic off and on headlights that are standard on the Limited. Not only will it turn the headlights off automatically when you park the truck, but it will also turn them on or off based on the amount of light outside while you're driving.

If that auto light system is as you say, I like that. My chev has it and while I didn't think I'd like it I now think it's kind of handy.
