Can we make the beeping stop?

2018 TRD off road. Every time I lock it unlock the doors with key fob the truck goes spastic with a beep beep (I keep thinking road runner) and a light show. This is beyond anoying. Can it be turned off? I mean I know I locked the door, I just did it and who needs the extra attention at night anyway?

yes, if you get the carista obdII module and app you can, reduce the volume of the door lock/unlock beep or eliminate it entirely.

Well for one you can hear it.

I tried the dongle and techstream hack but never had any luck. popped the carista in and turned off all my beeps effortlessly. only thing i cant do is remote roll my windows...perhaps n/a on SR5?

you can also pair it up with something like Dash or other obd2 apps for some fun analytics, and live monitoring.

+1 for carista. Turned off my seat belt chime and eco dash light/bar. Friend used one on his BMW to figure out what the CEL warning was on for. Handy little tool.

Before you go the Carista route, double check the fine print - you have to pay for some of the functions. When I got mine it came with one month full use “free.” After that month, it was $10/mo for full functionality. Last i looked, i think it was changed to $10/wk.

Great little tool to turn off the annoying bells and whistles and lights and garbage, and to customize some stuff on the truck. Just be sure you know what you want to do before your subscription runs out.

Another +1 for Carista. Beeps and eco mode light disabled. My favorite feature is setting hold the unlock button down to roll down all windows (not the rear).

I also keep it plugged in and run OBD Fusion on a second phone during road trips and wheeling. You can build custom dashboards to monitor vehicle data that the scanner or phone can pick up. Pretty cool to see fuel info, GPS, Pitch and Roll, coolant and engine temps. You can even build out custom graphs and record data.
