Can you cange the from u joints or not in the drive shaft?

I hear people say you have to replace the whole shaft if the front ones go.

I changed my rear ones, but it still squeeks, can I change the front u joints?

My guess would be yes you can since they give part numbers for them. I have never heard that you had to replace the driveshaft. Unless they were saying if the front ones "go" as in fail completely and hte driveshaft falls from the vehicle while going down the road. I have seen some do this on older work trucks and dig in to the street hard enough to lift the back of the truck.
