Can you fix scratched interior panels?

My interior plastic panels have some scuffs scratches and a few gashes. Is there a way to smooth it all out without having to pain them afterwords?

What year/model do you have because they are all different? If it's hard plastic I saw a suggestion from someone to rub a popsicle stick on the scratches. A paint stick would be made out of the same wood. I've never tried it. Maybe you could post a picture of the problem.

I've seen some people have success with a hot hair dryer or heatgun on low. The objective is to get the surface of the plastic just hot enough to re-flow the plastic. This might leave a little bit of a gloss finish which can then be knocked down to a matte finish with a magic eraser (the white cleaning sponges).
