Can you guys tell me about this model?

Which particular model is this? When searching I should be looking for ____ model with _____ pkgs?

I'm looking for one used, preferably under 20k that came looking like this...

I was told it was a sport model but I dont know for sure. the side looks like it says 'SportRunner' or something?

V8 is nice to pull a boat I'm looking to buy soon, and I just like the sportier look of this particular model. The Wheels, the Hood etc...

If I get some basic info on what model it is, I could perhaps do more resarch on my own for individual specs.

That's a Sport Edition, which is the only model that has that hood. That package is specific to one region if I'm not mistaken. I think it is the Gulf Region.

Someone on here has pretty much the same 4runner. Hopefully they will pop in here.

That is a Sport Edition that they put wheels from an XSP package on. Those wheels only came on SR5 4runners and Tacomas with the XSP package in the South Eastern region.

That has a nice sporty look to it, you will probably not find another with the scoop and the wheels, but it is fairly easy to find those wheels for sale online between 800-1200 usually if you went with a different truck and wanted those same wheels.

I'll keep searching. that particular one is for sale, but out of budget, they're looking for 26k for it and its got a little over 40k miles on it.

Probably worth every penny but whats not in the budget isn't in the budget for now.

Just curious for future reference, I know from reading aroudn on this forum and on other sites online that Toyota made a TRD Super charger for 03 and 04 V8's, but discontinued them after that, for issues with VVT-i or what not.

The question is does anyone make a Supercharger or Turbocharger currently (bolt on kit) for the v8's 04+ models? aftermarket, non factory warranty approved of course.

They also make a stroker kit for the 4.7 that makes it a 5.4 but it's almost 8k. That turbo kit looks interesting but really, why?

I hate the way the front bumper has that protruding piece to it in that 06... which models had that and which didn't? looks like jay leno's chin.. i hate it lol

The reason they stopped the supercharger on the V-8 was that the transmission couldn't handle that much power overtime. many of whom had to go to IPT transmissions to get a proper trans. the XSP package only came on 2wd SR5 4runners. Your question on bolting on a supercharger or turbo is simple both on V-6 and V-8 have them. V6 has both TRD, URD, and Vortec. Turbo STS, HKS, Turbonetics, etc the main problem though is tuning and the transmission. V-8 has that factory TRD supercharger while on the turbo side TTC performance has all the parts you need. same problems or limitations still apply with the transmission.

XSP Wheels and Package

As stated, that is a Sport Edition with different wheels. The wheels are actually Enkei WT4. The package is a Southeast Toyota port add-on. Basically an SR5 with wheels, Borla cat back, Suede center leather seats, and carbon fiber dash kit. Most you will see are 2wd. Very good looking in my opinion. I wanted a 4wd XSP, and looked forever for one. I just bought a sr5 that had leather added, and I'm going to buy those wheels from a guy off of craigslist tomm. Basically made my own. Good luck with your search.

Black V8 Sport Edition (2008), it was a birthday present from my other half. Still kicking myself in the behind for not buying a 2009 like I originally planned too.
