Can you tell me where this tube goes?

I was digging around the rear axle, left side and I found what appears to be a small plastic tube with a rubber cap on it. The tube was obviously clipped on something but it's now just hanging down. What does this do and where does it clip to? Thanks in advance!

Here is a view of the tube looking forward, from behind the rear axle, left side.

Clip at the end. There is a rubber cap on the end.

Yes, it goes right there...

That is your rear diff lock actuator breather tube. It just sits back there above the axle. I have extended mine to the gas cap alongside my rear diff breather tube.

That rubber cap has a "+" cut in it to allow air to pass, but not water.

As far as what it was clipped to, I don't remember, but just clip it so anything down there, preferably out of the way.
