Canadian Bug Shields?

anyone state side able to get a part # for a usa version of the canadian bug shield (is there such a thing as a usa version of the canadian bug shield)? or do i have to get one from up north?

i did a search on this in the forums and nothing related to a part # or such.

Part Number

As soon as I return Stateside, I will be traveling to Canada to look for one of those bug shields. I too have looked for a part number, with no success.
So, unless someone posts the information sooner, you will just have to wait until my return mid April, and my subsequent trip to Canada their after.
I will find the device, and I will post the info ASAP, but it will be sometime in the 3rd or 4th week of April.

from what i know its only available in canada...which makes me happy since i dont like the other one toyota is selling! maybe we could work something out....i order you one here and ship, and someone orders me a valor tip and ships to me??? since i cant get one of those in canada...not sure on price difference, but i know the deflector cost me 125 canadian....

i know i can get the valor tip for around $45-$50 usd. the us bug shield is around $80 usd.

based on the following rates

1 USD = 1.32895 CAD
1 CAD = 0.752476 USD

$125 CAD = $94 USD
$45 USD = $60 CAD
$50 USD = $65 CAD


so this should give the north/south of the border people an idea what you need to swap.
 
I was able to find and purchase this same "Canadian" bug shield in Washington while browsing Burien Toyota's Parts store one day, which has all sorts of TRD parts and accessories in stock. The hood protector is made by FORM FIT, a company out of Canada, and looks identical to Loyd's picture above. Very easy to install (no need to drill holes in the hood; pressure holds this thing on very tightly). I paid $69.95 for it (plus tax).

that may be easier for those who want them...just to get them from there since its already in the US....let me know if anyone is interested i dont mind shippin if you want...
 
Loyd, I'd be interested in swapping you a Valor tip for a Canadian bug shield. I'd pay some difference, also, since I work for a Toyota dealer here in Illinois. Shoot me an email to let me know what you think shipping costs are and let's get this worked out.

Old thread I know but I’m trying to get the formfit bug shield for my 08 4runner sport but the website says excludes sport models. What’s up with that because it just has a center hood scoop that doesn’t even touch the shield. Does anybody know a way to get the candies in one for the sport model that has the fangs that cover the small triangle pieces on the hood?
