Canadian ECP Deals?

I know there is the US dealership offering US ECP with low markup/margin. I've also perused the previous threads on the ECP here. However none show any sign of a Canadian Dealer doing the same thing; I.E. Cut rate ECP over the phone.

Any new leads? I'm in my last week and seriously considering ECP if the price is right. I notice warrantydirect.ca is somewhat cheaper listprice wise and in particular does not have the nasty premium jump from 7/120 to 7/160.

PS. After looking at the term on Toyota's site I notice the mention of a deductible seems conspicuously absent (unless I missed it). In Canada is it implicitly a zero deductible?

I am in the same boat. Will put down the final signatures and pick up my 4R next week. Dealer is not trying to sell me the ECP for $1129. It only adds one more year or 40000kms to the total warranty. I don't drive much (12-20k kms/per year) do I really need it?

Of course it up to you to decide, but I bought ECP just once long time ago and my Ford repairs under ECP did cost me less than ECP itself. And I hope that 4Runner will be more reliable than my old Ford Windstar.

I've emailed a few of the guys in the states from the Ecp thread. I believe it was Jerry who said he couldn't sell the warranty to a Canadian vehicle you had to have a US address. This was a long while ago but I believe the other guy on that thread said they could sell the warranty but it had to be after one year of ownership.

My one year is up in December and would like to extend my warranty but I'm not paying double to triple up here for it.

So with a couple days left I have a best offer so far of $1800 for the 84/120 package (MSRP $2200). It included 4 oil changes so let's be generous and call it $1600 net. I've never been an extended warranty guy but this is the most expensive rig I've owned and I can only imagine that it would pay for itself if the transfer case dies or something. Any last Canuck thoughts? Or even those in the US who have had some expensive failures in that 3-7 year range? I know there is limited power-train till 5 years so you really only get 2 extra years there for your $$$.

Do it..I got it for 2000 from 2200 - they weren't budging. Probably cause I got a good deal on the vehicle itself and they were sick of me. In the end, invest now for peace of mind later. I'm like you, never bought extended before so we'll see how this works out...

Has anyone had any luck shopping across the country? Dealer wouldn't budge on the 7yr/120,000km ECP for $2899. It does include the first 8 lubrications, so call it $2400. It does have a lot of bells and whistles, but seems very steep compared to what's offered in the US.

I'd like to know also but I have my doubts there are any substantial discounts available in Canada.

I have been able to get a $300 discount so far. 84/120,000km is $2899 reg and I got 2 dealers quote me $2599. 72/120,000km was quoted $2469.

If you buy within 30 days you get your first 8 oil changes free + all the other benefits such as emergency roadside assistance etc.

I'm actually tempted...

I'm not worried about the vehicle necessarily- just the electronics as there are an abundance of them in the Limited.

I have one dealer who offered $400 off any plan. So 84/120,000km is reg $2899 is available for $2499. I haven't put any of the other dealers against this. A little disappointed my selling dealer said "yes" to "is this your best possible price on the ECP" when I purchased my 4Runner. Didn't budge from Toyota price at all.
