Canadian Lease/Finance Rates

Hey Folks,

New to the forum but have been reading it non stop since I ordered my Black 2010 SR5 with upgrade package last week. All the info and pic's are awesome.

Question for those buying/leasing in Canada. Has anyone been able to get lower rates from Toyota Financial Services than those listed on the Toyota website? I know that you can buy down the lease rate by 1.8% by making 9 security deposits (around $7k drops the rate by 1.8%) but if you push hard enough will they actually lower the rates? I am looking at leasing right now just to keep the payments lower but would like to get it below the advertised rate. Might even purchase if I could push down the finance rate.

I just bought my 4Runner and my impression was that there are very few of them in Canada (I live in Ontario) and dealers were not willng to make real good deals especially if you are ordering. The best I could do is $1000 over Invoice, but they didn't even want to discuss rates.

Thanks for the input guys... I get the same feeling that they are not going to move as there are not a lot around. Very few in the Atlantic Canada region. Not picking it up till Sept. so hopefully the rates will drop slightly to clear out the last few (doubtfull though). Saw that the 2011 pricing was released today and rates are over 7% and close to 8% for a lease. Gonna stick with the 2010 but I do like the thought of the 3rd row seating for the base with upgrade package even though I have no use for it and would likely have them flat all the time anyway.

Waiting for an SR 5 with the 3rd row , anyone know the newly released price of them ? I almost bought a 2010 but just chaught wind of the 3rd row for 2011.

Prices are already published on toyota.ca, Upgrade package on Canadian 2011 SR5 seems to be a $1000 more expensive (because of 3rd seats ?) and Toyota financing interest rate is 7.09%

Try all the dealers in your area, asking if they can improve the rate. 7.09 for the 2011 (finance) is an outrageous rip off when prime rate from most banks is 2.75.

Not sure if Toyota Canada wants to kill its financing business, but it's on the right track with that kind of greedy nonsense. It was a still-high 5.9 for the 2010s just a few weeks ago. You can do better with a bank or personal line of credit. Get the best rate from bank, show that to Toyota, ask them to match or don't use them.

As for the MSRP, they're up across the board for 2011 (not much on SR5, unless you choose upgrade pkg - now with third-row option!) but limiteds are up $245.

Toyota dealers in Canada are traditionally not as flexible as in the US and the demand for the 5G 4Runner makes them even less motivated to compete for your business. You could save about $5,000 buying in the US, but you need a US address if buying new. Let us know what you do.
