Ok so I am trying ti install a spacer kitonmy truck and I cannot get the upper control arm to disconnect. I rented a fork ball joint popper tool from autozone but I can't get the upper control arm to disconnect from the thing that holds the disc brakes in place. Does anyone have any input? A quick response would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Are you saying you cant disconnect the upper control arm from the spindle at the ball joint? It should be fairly easy. I just hit mine a few times with a hammer and it popped out. But if your installing a spacer kit why do you need to remove that..?

x2 took the words right outta my mouth lol

Why are you disconnecting your UBJ to put a spacer in?

Because its a spacer that goes on top of the spring/shock assembly. So I removed the spring/shock. And then I put the spacer on the top of the shock tower (the thing with 3 bolts) and when I went to put it back in the whole assembly was too tall so I'm trying to disconnect the upper control arm so that the lower control arm will droop more. So I can fit the assembly in

No no no no use your trusty bottle jack on the UCA. You're going to have a hell of a time getting all that back together. Also, loosen the nut on the UCA, then retighten once the strut assembly is installed.

@downpour so I just put the jack in between the upper control arm and the wheel well?

Yeah flip it upside down, place it right behind the castle nut, start cranking (this will lower your LCA as well) til your lower shock mount is matching up with the bolt holes. Slip the bolt back in. Then carefully uncrank the bottle jack.

Thanks A ton. Idk what's would Do w/o this website lol.

lol thankfully you didn't disassemble the UBJ, then put strut assembly in. You'd be doing a ton of unnecessary work and you'd be pissed!

Post some pics when you're done!

If you loosen the UCA bolts jack the truck up under the LCA before you tighten them back down.
