Can't decide between these two lifts...

I have the first link installed on my '07 SR5. I love the ride, my only complaint is the rear sagged a little too much, but I believe thats more due to the bad roads around here and my tendency to just floor it over anything and everything. Whoops.

Where do you live?

IMO I would get neither of those and get the front ICON coil overs.

I was going to get your set that you have listed but I decided to go with icon and glad I did. Maybe because Toytec customer service was lacking when I emailed them twice with no response. So I purchased from Metal Tech.

I don't have that kind of cash on hand. It would probably take another 6 months or so.

ICON fronts are $1200 I believe.

Get the ICON fronts and go with OME coils in the rear with ICON shocks. $1500-1600 I beleive total. Not significantly more than what you are paying now.

Or if still too expensive.

ICON fronts and put in a rear spacer in the back $40 (fj cruiser rear spacer) and ICON or Bilstein Rear shocks.

If you keep the ICON's at the stock setting you do not need to buy aftermarket UCA's. That saves you $500-600 right there.

Aren't they both adjustable?

Both adjustable: yes. However on the ultimate lift, adjustment is made by means of dual threaded collars and combination of height settings is infinite and can be fine tuned to whatever ride height you want. On the other lift, you are limited to (I believe) 3 pre-set adjustment positions.

Imagine you have to wear a belt that has only 3 holes spaced very far apart, versus a belt having many holes spaced close together. Which will be easier to find a comfortable fit with?

That makes sense.. Thanks!

I just got an email from a toytec rep,

"The only difference is the adjustability of the front coilovers. With the HA coilovers you would get about 3” lift on the lowest setting.
The coilovers in the UL kit have an adjustable ring that you can adjust anywhere from 1 to 3+” of lift on the 4Runner, they also have a longer spring so the ride and flex will be better with them."

Another nice/convenient/whatever thing about the toytec ultimate kit, is that it uses basic bilstein shocks. So if the shock ever wears out, you're only looking at a couple hundred bucks to buy new shocks and transfer the coilover collars and spring to the new shock, as opposed to having to buy a whole entire new unit. I don't know if it would be just as easy to do a replacement or rebuild on the Icon stuff. If it is, that'd be interesting to know.

Yeah but with Icon or the other higher end option you just sent them in for a rebuild instead of just throwing them away.. Oh and the Icons are valved for the spring rate they provide. The Bilsteins are the same off the shelf valving for OEM spring rates, everyone just sticks what ever springs on them they want. IMHO the Bilsteins are under damped on 600-650# springs. When it comes to spending this much money better to just do it right the first time.

Well I've ended up buying a complete FJ set up for $100 from a guy in San Antonio. The wife and I will take a trip down there this week end and get them. She also wants to go shopping and go to the Alamo and stuff... I had to say yes since the trip was for me to begin with. I hope to have time to throw it on next week.
