Sorry to break it to you, but so is everybody else! Doesn't help that they're few & far between with those options either. I would also say that 7k is on the low side (Toyotas hold their value well, great if you own one, but sucks if you're in the market for one). Try searchtempest, auto trader, eBay, etc and be patient. It could pop up tomorrow or in 6 months!

Bought my wife's and my 4runner off craigslist. 97 and 98 both 4x4 around 150k, one auto one standard, $4800 each.

That's what I'm hoping to find soon. Is 150k to much for a wheeler? I couldn't find the one on eBay. Any think I need to watchfor besides pink milkshake?

Is 150K enough for a wheeler? I have 215K on mine. I know lots of guys with 200K+ on their DD/weekend wheeler 3rd gens. At 150K, my 4runner still drove like new (which IMO is better than a lot of newer cars with less mileage). My 4runner actually feels more solid than the '05/105K Honda CR-V I had a few months ago for a DD.

It'll happen! Found mine with 111k miles, 5spd, elocker, 4x4, just not the color I was expecting. But after searching for the perfect truck for about a year I found her and bought my 4Runner for $5000. Be patient!

A guy in Boone, NC had a 1997 sr5 5sp NO LOCKER back in September... It had around 130k miles. He said it was clean and garage kept. I opted to buy my 99 Limited with 123k miles at cheaper price instead but kinda wish I'd gotten the manual. I just sent him a message to see if he still has it. If he does I'll give you his contact info.

If you don't cap the miles then you will find one sooner or later. Remember, miles dont kill cars, people do.

I had a 98 automatic and wanted a manual 4x4, took sometime to find it but I found a 98 with similar milage as the one I traded and it has a manual transmission, had to compromise on the milage, but I traded the automatic and now I'm very happy. Spending way more money than I wanted sorting it out but once its done it will be right and it will be all mine!! I'll be in the woods killing some Georgia pine goats next week for 10 days. I've already taken back into some of hunting spots and it is solid drive. I just put in a toytec ultimate lift, new rims and tires and completely replaced all the front end components except for the LBJs, that comes next.

Man there are some SUPER nice Runners in the classifieds section right now. I would be hard pressed to make up my mind. They may not be exactly what you want but be open to what is realistically available. But if you are patient it will eventually pop up, maybe.

There is one 20 min away with under 110 on it 5speed with a pretty nice body. A few small dings. But the only thing is that the top and hood are sun baked. For 4,000 its a great deal what can I do to the paint? After I pay it off I am going to do LBJ and sliders then a 3in lift in from and 4in in the rear.
