Can't get comfortable SR5 Seats

I bought my '01 sr5 T4R a few months ago and I just can't get comfortable in the small cockpit. I'm 6'2" and slim. I re-welded the seat legs forward to give me another 1.5" of leg room and swapped seat bases with the like new passenger but still have bad right hip and leg pain while driving for more than 20 minutes or so. I'm frustrated to the point of possibly selling the rig and getting something else. Anyone else have this problem and find a solution? I'm wondering if the Limited seats are a different dimension than the SR5 seats? The seat base doesn't feel long enough and I have no support for my thigh so it just hangs over the center console. Pics for reference.

I'm a big dude and it is the same for me with limited seats as far as my leg hanging over the side onto the 4wd selector. However, this causes me no pain and I find that the leather seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever owned....strangely enough.

I feel that the seats sit rather low to the floorboard. That angle is what throws me off and makes my leg hang over too. Do other seats fit without mods?

Do you have any pics of your reweld of the seat legs. I was considering that myself.

I'm 6-3 and fit well but I do have power leather though. That may be an option for you.

I'm 6'2, I use to get a little cramp on my right but got used to it after awhile. My leg doesn't hang over like yours done in the picture...maybe your steering wheel is positioned lower than mine causing you to have to swig your leg around like that. I've got my SR5 seats pulled all the way back, I could use another inch or two but it's better than most cars.

Legroom is fantastic though--similar to old Tacomas. Much better than the 05+ Tacoma, which sat lower like a car.

Do you have any pics of your reweld of the seat legs. I was considering that myself.

I also would like to see the rewelded seat legs , I have been thinking about grabbing a little more leg room .

I'm 6'2" and fit fine in these trucks , I have short legs for being as tall as I am . Sounds like the flatness of the seat is causing your pain , try just raising the front of the seat somehow . Spacers under the rails maybe ?

I have some new seats on order that will be shipped out on Tuesday that should be much more comfortable as well as lower and with better support. I'll update with pics in case new seats may be a solution for you too.

I added some spacers to get the seat a little higher, we'll see if that helps.

Here's the front of the seats where I extended the rails and welded the feet back on. To get the feet off you have to drill out the rivets and the spot weld and give 'em a whack and they'll pop off.

I'm in the same boat (as it were). Manual cloth seats in my '02. I'd love it to be an inch or two lower.

I ended up swapping in scion xb seats, but a warning, they were way too tall, 4 inches taller than stock. so i had to chop them, and now i can have them at any heigh i want, what i like is when the front of the seat bottom is tilted up so it supports my legs, and i can lean it back while still feeling locked in.

Huh, are SR5 Sport seats different? I feel like I have much more side and thigh bolstering than shown in those pics. Granted I'm only 5'8"

Here's a picture of my new seats. The seats themselves are much more comfortable than the stock seats but there are some drawbacks. The shoulder bolsters are too wide so they do rub against the side pillars causing the seatbelt to not retract well.

The seats however did not solve my height problem as they sit at the same height but they do have a greater range of adjustment letting the seat slide farther back so those with a shortage of legroom would appreciate the added adjustability.

Seriously considering welding some extensions onto my seat rails. Can anyone else who had done this please weigh in and share some pictures?
