Can't live with them, Can't live without them (sunroof question)

I'ts very seldom that I let the wife drive the 4r because of the reason I'm about to state, but she needed to pick the dogs up. Anyways I came out in the morning after she drove the truck and noticed that the sunroof was not closed all the way. This happened before and I made it a point to tell her to pay attention and not do it again. Well this time was different because it rained like cats and dogs overnight. The sunroof was not in the vent position but had come from the open position to the closed position but the rear of the glass had not raised up to form a seal. Water definetly got in but my question is, were does all the water go? The inside was not wet and my roof lining didn't seem wet. does the 4r have channels that move the water down the frame and out the bottom? Just wanted to know b/c this is really bothering me no knowing where all the water went.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe there are drainage tubes that run along the roof line, then out the back. I noticed one by where the jack is on the driver's side. Follow this link...

Sounds like the sunroof needs to be reinitialized. If it has been initialized, then once it starts to close, it will finish even if you turn the engine off.

In the Service Manual, it tells you to "disconnect the 4 drain hoses" in the process of removing the moonroof assembly, but it doesn't show where they go.

Yea there are indeed drain channels for when water leaks through the sunroof. If you have over stuck your head up there you will notice them.

This is one of the reasons the OEM moon roof is expensive. It also has a speed adjusted wind deflector that rises and lowers at different speeds.

Yes it does have a drainage tube. When I got my Sport Edition, the Sunroof wans't adjusted correctly, and when in the closed position, it wasn't completely closed. After washing my car, I noticed that the sunroof didn't close completely shut. When I opened the sunroof, you could see the water flowing down the channels into the drain somewhere (the interior did not get wet at all, however, the water was flowing somewhere)
I took it to the dealership and they replaced and adjusted the glass. Now, no more water flows in when washing the car and it closes perfectly now
I am sure glad that Toyota put some thought when designing these sunroofs

I know it doesn't need to be initialized because it always works with one touch for me even if the key is out as long as the door hasn't opened. The wife is just a tard.

Also rest assured that the inside of the roof metal is also galvanized, The drain tubes and galvanized sheet metal are the major benefits to having a factory installed sunroof.

Wrong! You only have about 45 seconds to 1 minute to close any window in the truck after you turn off the ignition and I think even after opening a door. You can test this feature at night by watching the driver's side door lighted window button. The light will stay lit for as long as this feature is active. When the light goes out in the window switch, then the feature does not work any longer. Try it next time you get home at night........ just sit in your truck and watch that one weak, tacky, dimly lit window button on your driver's door. Toyota should have their butts kicked for not having all of the switches illuminated on at least the driver's door console.

Ya, that's a little idiotic. It's funny though because out of all the cars I have driven two features on one car stand out. I was given a 1996 Mazda 626 which had a sunroof. The sunroof would automatically close after you removed the key. No pushing of buttons or anything. A little thing but I have had cars worth twice as much that did less. Also, it had "swing-type" air vents that would, at a push of button, rotate the air vents laterally back and forth. Too bad they couldn't have designed the drivetrain with as much ingenuity...

It's 43 seconds for the retained power on operation for windows and moonroof after turning the key from the 'On' position to 'Acc' or 'Lock'. I also find out from my friend's '07, the retained power feature does not cancel when the rear doors are opened. It will cancel as soon as the front doors are opened.
