Capacity - 5 tires (265/70R17)

As a new 4Runner owner I am still learning what can fit in my Truck. I am doing a bit of a weekend trip and at the destination I am hoping to pick up 5 new bigger tires for my rig. I won't be putting them on there so I need to know if I can fit them in the back with all the seats down.

4 bonus questions:

• Do members usually buy 5 tires?
• Will this tire fit in my spare?
• Are these well liked for light off-roading, mostly street, agressive looking, and low noise tires?
• Can I fit these with a Daystar Budget boost with spidertrax? Or do I have to go with the 2.5/1.5?

1. Yes you will be able to fit them all in the back when you buy them, fold the seats down, its not an issue.

2. Its preference, if you're upsizing the tires its a good idea to have a matching spare.

3. Yes, it will easily fit in the spare location

Yes 5 tires should fit no problem with the seats down. Me and my friend stuffed an entire mustang power wheels in the back with the seats down. Box and all, LOL.

If 265/70R17 is upsizing from your OEM tires (I think it is?) then buying 5 tires is a good idea so you have a spare tire in the same diameter as your new tires.

you could also do 255/75/17 if you only want to go for a taller tire

On that topic, do you have any favourite destinations? off road trails, camping etc?

Also if you are in Victoria, do you know any good mechanics or places for parts? Even tires....

I use Lordco and Napa for parts locally. Work I do as much as I can myself in my driveway and what I can't I take to Metro Toyota they have always done good work and decent prices Jade Auto Service is good as well. Stay away from Searles I had them replace a Water Pump with a brand new OEM Pump that I supplied cost me nearly $400 for labor alone but they messed it up either by accident or what the wanted another $500 to put a new one that they supplied. Phoned Metro told them my story the had me bring it in the next day a Saturday and put a new one on for $600 OEM Aisin brand same as the one I supplied.

Good areas to explore are out towards Jordan River and the Cowichan Valley, there used to be some great trails in Sooke that are no longer accessible due to gates and like most of Southern Vancouver Island Private land. Camping Cowichan Lake is a great spot with quite a few campgrounds ranging from BC parks to Forest Service. If you have the time Campbell River and the logging roads around there hold a ton of lakes and camp sites. If you don't have one yet pick up a Mussio Ventures Backroad Mapbook one of the best tools for exploring around here.

I have these on my 05... I have had them for 2 months now with the budget boost and so far love them. Noise is very minimal and no rubbing issues at all.
