Car Cover (due to vandalism) recommendation

I live in an apartment and it's a gated parking garage but anyone can jump over.
Recently there's been a spike of vandalism on some cars and 2 cars in my parking garage were stolen (later recovered).

So I was wondering if anyone has used or can recommend a car cover.
I was thinking since most of our 4Runners are lifted would a standard 4Runner cover work or should I look into the Sequoia sized car covers?

If this can slightly deter these POS that are vandalizing then I think I'll have some peace of mind.

I think most burgles are looking for the easy targets but i mean if i was a thief and saw our 4Runners. I would be like damn that's a nice suv lol.

any help is welcomed! Again asking if a standard 4Runner size would work or the Sequoia size would work better (maybe not the new sequoia. those things are ginomous! lol)

Honestly.... the car cover may attract more attention. Curiosity.........just like the above post, take valuables out and lock it.

WELCOME to LA. I would not recommend a car cover. the POS can hide under the cover and still break in.
On a SUV a cover is difficult to put on and off. Also they tend to damage the paint if you don't wash the truck before you put them on. I have had a number of covers but only on cars that were not daily drivers.
Also if it rains ( It does rain here once in awhile) you won't want to put it in the truck wet. Then you have to put it back on the truck to dry it.
A good alarm system or Lojack might be an option.

I've used car covers in the past. I'm not convinced they deter theft. I am convinced they are a lot of trouble though. If you ever put your cover on a dirty car then you have to clean the cover before using it again. If it rains while the cover is on you have to deal with a big heavy wet cover. Your best bet is to remove any valuables, always lock the truck and make sure you have good insurance. THATS WHAT INSURANCE IS FOR!

Have NOTHING in plain view and lock your doors. If parking is not assigned try and pick a more visible spot with more ped/car traffic.

Thank you guys for all your inputs! I should’ve been a bit more clear. Vandalism as in keying cars and some painted on.

I have no valuables in my car because my tacoma got broken into before so ever since then I’ve never had anything of value nor put things out in plain view.

I’m just paranoid. And yes all thieves need to all die.

Oh! And damn I never knew about the downside of car covers. Thanks for that info!

Any recommendations for alarms? Or a series to start with? The last I had was a viper that would alert me on a key fob if someone or something set the chirp off. But that was yeeeaara ago

I use the California Car Cover on my 4Runner. I agree with what others have said here though, it can be a real pain in the ass if you use your truck daily. It works for me because I only use mine once a week, and I always wipe the truck down before reinstalling the cover. It's not too big of a deal when you have a little OCD, haha. I mainly use the cover to protect it from the sun since I don't have covered parking. The one I use is the Noah cover. It's meant for indoor and outdoor with UV protection, water resistant, and yet breathable. I'm pretty happy with it. I'm pretty sure the standard 4Runner cover will fit whether you're lifted, or not. Oh, and as for alarm. I installed the Directed Electronics 5X10 Digital remote start alarm. I've always used Directed products, they've been around a long time. I also installed a glass break sensor because I've noticed that some thieves will bust a window, hide, and see if it draws any attention before actually going into the car. It happened to my wife's car before. She had an alarm, but no glass break, so the alarm didn't go into full trigger when they busted the window which didn't wake us up until they came back and opened the door which then triggered the full alarm. It was too late though, they grabbed what they could and got away. With this alarm you also have the option to add 2 way transmitters, or even GPS using your phone for unlimited range
